It happened to be Dean's turn to leave this life and he is going to be missed by many.   We attended his Celebration of Life yesterday with such sadness.   The first time we met him he came to Rose Cottage Bakery to see Megan sharing a cup of coffee with sweet treats and that was several years back .   While singing opera in Germany and here in the states, humorously he called his voice his birth defect.    He got burned out singing opera in Germany, came home and built boats.  Both large and small models.    The Owl and the Turtle bookstore employed him as a manager at one time.   Occasionally he would sing to pass the time being heard in downtown Camden.  His biggest joy was being with dogs and was also a dog walker.   I remember a time he came to dinner and Spencer became his best buddy.

I opened the Sunday New York Times and discovered this piece in the Metropolitan Diary section that fits Dean to a "T"!
He would totally have loved it.

His love of afternoon tea was shared by all and dog treats were waiting for attendees to help themselves.   Dean left this world suddenly taking that happiness and joy with him - and an operatic voice with a dog tagging along.
