Our first garden club meeting of the year took place last week and treat table began it off.   Everything looking delicious just as I knew the meeting would be.

The speaker for the meeting was Wendy Reinemann from Guini Ridge.   She showed us how to bring the "outside in with plants in containers" and the
whole talk happened to be GREAT!

With a slide show and plants awaiting to share, a group activity made
the talk even more interesting!

With an empty pot and a bunch of flowers available, three members volunteered to put make a fabulous flower arrangement.   Plants were placed in the huge planter just right in a matter of minutes.

Now isn't that flower pot filled with pure beauty?  Hats off to the club members for creating this display.

Some things I took away from Wendy's talk:
1.  Shove a pansy in a potted plant that has little areas to fill.
2.  When placing plants into window boxes leave the plant in the plastic container.
3.  Can guarantee that one thing a deer won't eat is a plastic container!

One flower that will be on our shopping list in May is the "Mountain Fire".   Grows 6 feet tall and turns fiery red in the fall.   Something new to add to our gardens.
I love these meetings.   They are so knowledgeable and the members are an absolute delight!   Stop in and see Wendy at Guini Ridge Farm in Rockport and take a look at tons of beautiful flowers and plants.   It is a real treat!
