ONE LAST CELEBRATION

Look!   It's a table cloth!    When visiting Leon at his job I saw this fabric sitting under some framing being done.   I told the staff working there that I never served a meal on a tablecloth, always using place mats.    Then Rose came over and began taking things off of it and telling me to take it home and try it.   So I did!

Pulling out the red trimmed plates it became a dinner cover like I'd never had before.   My mother always used tablecloths.   I don't know why I hadn't thought of it.   It appeared so festive and downright magical.    This was going to be the last holiday dinner party of the year with Michelle and her family joining us.   I set the table, she brought the food!

In walked Michelle and Jeff and their boys with a whole lot of dinner in their hands.   

What was inside all the dishes and pans is called one fabulous dinner -  cheesy biscuits, smashed potatoes, a salad that was out of this world and baked chicken.  
I couldn't believe it.   ​I just borrowed a table cloth and Michelle served the tastings!

When the dessert showed up I about died.   That crust and everything in
​it became a spectacular treat.   

Even Spencer eyed those red berries!

Table discussion took place after the meal.  I so enjoyed catching up with Will and Evan while I shared a writing piece for the class I am taking over the winter.   The evening went by way too fast.   The holidays disappear and today we said "good-bye" to Christmas as the decorations came down and returned to the attic.   We're going shopping tomorrow to find a holiday table cloth for next year!   Guess where our first stop is going to be.   A special thanks goes out to Rose for loaning us that table cloth and napkins.
