Picture
Time for another Garden Club meeting and I participated in
setting up the refreshment table.
Picture
I had a ball putting those flowers in the Bausch patio bicycle
Picture
and adding a few paintings with brightly flowered napkins,
bringing some color to the table setting.
Food servings were outstanding!
Club members helped with making and serving the food and
seeing that club duties were properly taken care of.

We all got ready to listen to our speaker, Rodger Lycette,
Picture
from the Peony Society of Maine!
Picture
He started the discussion talking about the Tree Peony, one of the largest peony plants.   Tree Peonies live 50 to 80 years, reaching 4 to 5 feet.
Picture
The ITOH Peony has long lasting blooms and strong stems that blooms spread around 8 inches across with the foliage lasting until autumn.
We saw picture after picture of different types and colors and sizes of this flower.
Mr. Lycette made a comment that I was most impressed about:
"If there is a bare spot in your garden plant peonies"!

What a delightful speaker to listen to who just adores and loves his Peonies.   He encouraged us to join the Peony Society of Maine and invited us all to come up to his home in Bangor, where we could see how he has placed his lovely flowers all around his property.    Just may take him up on that.
