I stopped in Sherman's bookstore to buy a new journal before I took off on my trip to Dallas. I use traveling excuses to purchase them and never fill one with drawings, paintings and writings before buying a new one.
Look what I found. Shelf after shelf of them. They make great gifts when trying to think of something special to purchase for someone. Filled with with lined pages or just plain for drawing. They open up in a variety of ways and are certainly pleasing to the eye. Took me a very long time to buy just a couple.
Can you guess which one I bought from this selection?
Sherman's was founded in Bar Harbor 135 years ago in 1886! Can you believe that? It is one of the 10 oldest bookstores in the United States. "It not only carries a wide variety of books but has a wide selection of stationery, cards, puzzles, games, toys, and gifts - many made right here in Maine"!
Besides buying that special journal I ended up purchasing this book because it didn't have a spiral attached and one that would lie flat and stay open.
Great for sketching as well as writing.
I also noticed this sign displayed on the window before entering the store.
Yeah for them!
If you are looking for something to do, spend time in this fabulous bookstore.
You never know what you will find.
