HAD TO DRIVE BY

After playing MahJongg yesterday I decided to take the back way when leaving the library.   I've been looking at this home for many years with the flat roof and huge rock on the property.   The tree leaves and bushes that come for a visit during the summer and fall  prevent me from visualizing this big piece of property.
Picture
I've never observed a mustard colored door.   It brings a piece of character to the whole scene, as does a garage on either side of it.   I imagine those rocks and bushes add a little fascination to the front of the property.
Picture
I must take a closer look at that door.   Placing a wreath on the side of it with a bench below the window looks rather stunning, just different, in the winter months.
Picture
On the other side of the house birch trees can be seen with rocks behind and newly planted bushes in front - with a bit of evergreen landing toward the end of the property.   Such a different and fascinating setting.   I see a bit of character to the whole place.   I wonder what sits inside.   Maybe some contemporary furniture lies within.  I'll start driving by often, hoping to catch the owners outside one day and talk with them or at least take some more photos in different seasons.   The enchantment is clearly visible.

Barb, I’m surprised you’re just now noticing Mazie and Brink’s house! It caused a flurry of condemnation in the neighborhood when it was built—I heard countless comments from library patrons! I hated it when it was first built, sticking out like a Japanese sore thumb in a New England neighborhood, but I’ve grown accustomed to it now. Here’s more about it from Phi: https://www.phibuildersarchitects.com/general-contracting/rockport-village-home/

Thanks for showing me those photos. They are nothing like I thought it would look like inside. I love contemporary and when looking at the outside and that yellow door, I thought that's what it would be like indoors. I've learned a whole lot from your thoughts. Thanks again!

Don't you think that has a CONTEMPORARY look, Jim? Then the inside looks like a New England setting. Really interesting!
