FIRST CHEMO

Yesterday I took Leon for his first taste of chemotherapy to treat his lymphoma.  After getting prepared with hoses and connections, they put the poison through a port which has been inserted under the skin where the bruise is.   Starting at 7:45 a.m. and ending at 4:15 p.m.!   For the first few hours the nurse came every fifteen minutes and checked his vitals to see if there were any adverse reactions to the three different kinds of poison.   After that it was every 30 minutes.  Anticipating all kinds of side effects as outlined in the material they handed out, Leon was surprised he didn't get any of them.  We noticed that the swelling of lymph glands has gone down.   The poison is doing its job.   That's one cycle, there could be another.  He says he was BORN LUCKY.   Look at those smiling eyes.   Now, let's see if he loses all of his hair.

This "storm" is just a bit of rain that we all go through one time or another. I cherish your thoughts.
