I drive up to my art teacher's house yesterday for a gathering of her students
in the painting world and I see this. I wonder which class member she is.
I look a little closer and it's a statue. I became so intrigued, carefully taking in what magic Susan had created standing right in her yard!
It became a really special day for me as I haven't seen my art buddies for such a long time. Each bringing our lunch and sharing a bit of wisdom on the art scene.
Look what Terrie created! Isn't it beautiful to place on a chair or stool?
Barbara showed a piece of her work. In the left hand corner is a cut up painting she no longer wanted. The background is magazine pieces torn up and scattered around the painted owl. It is so creative!
Susan, shared the book she has written about women in the catching Lobster world. She's added some knowledge about that skill and tells of their jobs. Can't wait til it gets published. (Do you see that fake artist working away in the background?)
My watercolor seems so simple compared to their work being shared.
This is just a practice painting.
As we sit on Susan's porch that big willow tree adds much thought as do the boats in the Belfast Harbor. The tree color along the water is changing a bit and will certainly be lovely, adding a little character in the future. It was one fabulous get-together. I hope we don't wait long to gather again, for I came home motivated to try new things in the art world.
