Where in the world was my mind yesterday? I went to the gym, right next to Hannaford's, and made a quick stop to pick up some groceries. Going through the self-checkout line I used my debit card and got some cash for the upcoming week.
The afternoon went by and Leon and I went to water plants and stopped by to see Martha - when I looked in my purse and couldn't find the $100 I just received. Oh, no! Did I leave it at the register? Did it slip out of my handbag? I remember throwing my receipt in the store waste basket. In looking on computer I had proof that I did take out the money.
Heading back to Hannaford's I asked the manager about the disappearing cash. "So you are the one that likes leaving money around." He opened a register and pulled some bills. "Someone called our attention to it." I couldn't thank him enough.
How does one do that? Leave money at the register without even giving it a thought and then missing it hours later. I swear age is setting in and I certainly don't like it.
