WONDERFUL WEEKEND

Back to the trip to the North Conway, New Hampshire trip!  Driving along the way for 2 1/2 hours interesting happenings are viewed.   A beach in Maine?   How wonderful.   A silo which I've never seen like this one came into site.
The trip took us through a one lane mountain going up and down and stopping along the way so approaching cars could get by!    We pulled into the Starlight Lodge ready to unpack.   Getting ready to exit the car we look over and Danny and Mary pull in right beside us.   How's that for timing?

The motel had a book of a few restaurants to try.  First night we had dinner Barley & Salt which was out of this world.
Leon ordered a Bloody Mary which I never saw him drink before, so that was quite a surprise.    Kristina poured the rest of us a bottle of Prosecco to split.   Then we looked at the table beside as a HUGE pretzel was served.   I've never seen anything like this.   What a great hors d'oeuvre!
Off to the motel to play PicWits!   (Kay, I just had to take that game as we sat and laughed all the way through it.)   RED was the color for the evening.   Sparkling and beautiful.
The next day we drove through the mountains.   What an outstanding site appeared, as they were large and simply inspiring.
The White Mountain hotel awaited.   The porch resembled a movie scene as golfers chipped away below us and the skies adding a bit of
spark against the green all around.

It's dinner time.   I ordered a wedge salad which tasted out of this world.   Blue cheese ruled and almost a whole head of lettuce sat on that plate.    It could not all be eaten in one sitting.   I brought half of it home and devoured the rest of it - tasting just as good.    That came along with Leon's reuben sandwich as we sat eating a prepared dinner and reliving our weekend.

On Monday we headed for home.   A short vacation, spending time with best friends for 55 years (Leon figured it out), could not be beat.   It's as if we were spending time with all the adventures experienced in the past.   Can't wait to get together again as it's so much fun seeing dear friends.
