SPENCER'S FINDINGS

Life happens in strange ways, whether it be with a family member or a 9 year old lovable yellow lab.   Spencer has been limping for some time so off to the vet we go.   He was given pain pills for ten days which seemed to help for a short period of time.  Then he was put on a different kind of medicine.  Pain returns again!    We just left the vet, where Spencer has spent the day being studied.   We were told that he has bone cancer!    Only months to survive the pain.   Our option is to take him to Portland, remove his leg and part of his stomach and put him on chemo therapy.
THAT IS NOT HAPPENING!
Now he’s on different pain pills for as long as he is able to function -
which is months away.
Spencer is still the lovable happy companion dog he’s always been -
just a bit slower right now.
Life happens in strange ways…while tears begin to happen at the Bausch house.

I have loved the pictures and adventures of Spencer. What a loving companion! He has certainly landed in the right family!

Spencer has certainly been a loving companion. He's very unhappy, Barbara. We aren't seeing the get up and go buddy we once had which saddens us. But life must go on. Thanks for your kind words.

I lost my Lucy in December due to a tumor that was in operable. The tears have not stopped. I feel your pain. My prayers are with Spenser.

Our prayers are with Spencer, too, Michael. I hope he is in no pain while taking the drugs. That's what bothers me about this. He was with us for 5 wonderful years - and for that we are blessed.

I’m so sorry to read about Spencer’s diagnosis. I’ve always enjoyed reading about his adventures with you and Leon.
So sad. Enjoy every moment.❤️

Leon and I are going to miss him, Dorette. He is such a treasure but now lies a different friend. Just sleeping a lot and taking pain pills. Doesn't want to get in the car anymore. And so we wait...

My love goes out to Spencer, you, and Leon. I remember that we were visiting in Maine when you first got him. He got separation anxiety and squeezed out of the car window to find his way into Home Goods where Leon was shopping. What a good and loyal companion he has been. Lov you all.

Can you believe Spencer did that, Judy? Everyone in the store was looiking for him and then he found Leon and just and everything was fine. We will certainly miss that special friend.

Ellen, your writing of Spencer is so meaningful Today I fell on the ledge while planting flowers. Immediately Spencer ran up that hill and stood right there beside me. Now that is someone who shows how much they love you. We'll see how this whole illness of Spencer goes. I am living each day with a positive attitude. \ so appreciate your words, Ellen. Much love!
