We spent Saturday on an adventure with friends to visit the yearly Red Hot Dog Festival that takes place in Dexter, Maine.
This festival has about 5000 to 7000 people in attendance for a one day event - rain or shine!   The proceeds are hosted by the Dexter Development Association with the proceeds going to downtown improvements and funding of local projects.   There were tons of vendors all over the place.

A visit from the Red Hot Dog became a wonderful treat!

Let's back up.   We first dined at Ralph's Cafe and Bakery for breakfast in Brooks, Maine.    A family has passed it on among them and it's only open 3 days a week - Friday, Saturday and Sunday.    Simply delicious.

Left-overs and baked good were packed up and taken home.   I had to get photos of these creatively painted light switches.
Added
character to the place.

The ride home up the those steep hills happened to be really cool.
Up and down we drove!

Last stop - the Dairy Queen in Belfast for blizzards.   Whew they tasted wonderful!!   What a fabulous, adventurous day we all experienced.   Rick and Sue, you were missed!
