The guys were in the kitchen AGAIN creating a meal that could not be beat. Better than going out to dine. While Mary Jo and I sat and watched with a glass of Prosecco and happy conversation. Here's the dynamite meal when all was said and done! Here is my contribution as we sat peacefully enjoying what they were making. Cheese, crackers and sausage while Leon contributed some crostini making the platter look more sophisticated. A simple table setting sat waiting for goodies to arrive. What a delightful and delicious meal with good friends! Who could ask for more than that?

Easter is on its way and the best place to shop for those special treats is Uncle Willy's in Camden . Oh, my gosh! They have tons of holiday treats to choose from for that Easter basket. Smash Eggs are like Mexican piñatas, coming with a mallet to pop candy treats out all over. I think it's so cool! I never leave this place without checking out the chocolates all around. Here's a picture window bunny with pearls galore and holiday stuffed animals with games offered. A treat for anyone. We walked out with Leon's favorite - salt water taffy - and a couple of bags of chocolate goodies. What a way to spend a day...in a really fabulous candy store. A real treat all the way around.
Helen is getting a great scoop of that delicious chili brewing in the kitchen! Chili and potato leek soup serve a house full of dinner attendees. But first we munched on hors d'oeuvres that were out of this world. Last came the desserts. Totally magnificent! Yellow tulips meet Leon's smile as we dine the evening away with glasses of wine and much laughter. Yellow tulips scream "come in"!
Can't thank Jon and Helen enough for one great gathering. Found the missing puzzle piece! I've never bought a puzzle that came without all the pieces inside the box. It was underneath the statue that Spencer is standing by. Now I will go back to Sherman's and tell them it was our error that piece was missing...not White Mountain's mistake. Then I go into the kitchen and find tulips closing up, after sitting here for a week. Never seen that happen.
What's going on? For the past two months we have been working on puzzles - well, Leon has done most of them. It's on those lazy days when darkness takes over that this all gets put together. We just completed this one which was easy because it contains words all over. Book titles and pictures! The only problem we had was a missing piece. Never had that happen before. Took off to Sherman's bookstore to purchase another one that got started last night. How would you like to do this one? I can't imagine how long it would take us to put Mickey together!! We left it right there. Here is a batch of puzzles we have done. They are all being given away. So if you want one let me know. Three of them have already been taken. Puzzles are so much fun. Time goes fast. You are spending time with a friend. And what a surprise finding just the right piece to fit.
I LOVE SURPRISES! I love it when surprise packages arrive. Got this lovely paper decorated box from Mary and couldn't wait to open it. Red lip pajamas! So creative. Light weight. Just perfect. Mary KNOWS what puts a smile on my face. Aren't they just the best? This jar of real mayonnaise tasted great. Linda gave it to us. What a surprise that turned out to be. It's totally gone in one month, spread on those toasted cheese sandwiches. We loved every bit of it. Remember the tulips that Colleen brought over when we were painting on Wednesday? Well, look at them now. Opened up and smiling. Every morning they greet us over that early cup of coffee. An email came from Dorette in Dallas, who I haven't heard from in a long time, telling me about this book. I ordered it immediately because I want to start reading it. Thanks for the suggestion, my friend. One last thing. This photo appeared on Carol's FACEBOOK page - a house built for the artist! I laughed out loud but certainly loved the way it is set up. Dreams! That became my week of adventures with every day bringing a bit of delight and a whole lot of happiness.
Yesterday Mary Jo and I met for coffee in Rockland. I told her of the problems I am experiencing with my new computer. She suggested we go look at it and the beginning of a master of a lot of things took over. After 30 minutes of studying it she solved the problem. I am always totally amazed at the skills Mary Jo has. She takes her time, studies the situation and then SNAP the puzzle is solved. How does one do that? I am gratefully indebted to her. She also brought over a loaf of bread that Michael made. We love being his "taste tester"! It happened to be one wonderful day.
It's Wednesday! Get those paint brushes out and get ready to slap some color on the canvas! Colleen walked in the house with some tulips and I placed them on a magazine picture of flowers. It's about time for such beauty to arrive in the coming months! Browsing through flower magazines we always find lovely photographs to give ideas on what to paint. We have a ball making those pictures our own with the proper changes to begin. I begin slapping color all over the place not anywhere near done, while Colleen sketched a pot of flowers all ready to add color. I treasure these Wednesdays when Colleen and I get to share ideas on the paint brush scene. That's after catching up and talking while the color gets placed on the canvas. I'm the lucky one as Colleen always, and I mean always, brings new materials as I'm learning new ways to
slap that paint on the canvas! Remember me telling you about the Rockport Harbor Hotel? A few of us went there for breakfast at 9:00 this morning and boy was it ever good. The place happen to be busy as breakfast at the bar seemed to be a delight. We dined with the regulars, boys on one side, girls on the other! Then a quick snapshot where the waitress stepped in thinking she belonged with our group. Which she did. She moved here two years ago after growing up in Hawaii and just loved reading children books about Maine when she was little. That is where she wanted to live when she grew up. Just a couple of breakfast samples for one to choose from. Of course, I just had scramble eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. Pretty boring from a great selection. Next time Leon and I are going to take a seat at the bar to eat breakfast. Would love to talk with the bartender! You must try it out
for a winter adventure. Yesterday we all got together to say "good-bye" to a dear friend, Nancy. She moved away to be with her daughter and passed away after dealing with pain for so many years. Linda served a glass of Prosecco in honor of Nancy, along with photos that brought back happy times. After munching on some delicious snacks... we took a seat in the most lovely windowed room and talked about treasured memories. She left a mark on all our lives. This party was for you, Nancy. I hope you heard all the thoughts we had about you. We are missing you like crazy! (Thanks, Linda, for hosting this very special gathering of friends!)
