It's PEANUT BRITTLE time again and Leon's in the kitchen -
doing what he does - COOKS!

A little bit of history of how making candy became a passion of Leon's.

Once again I share the passion of creating such a treat.   Ingredients are all portioned out, ready to go!   Let's see, oleo on top of the nut bowls.   Sugar waiting to join them.  Corn syrup and water in measuring cups.   Last step - adding the baking soda.   All waiting their turn
in an old pressure cooker!

Candy is poured on these slabs to cool it.   They are so heavy they require two trips from storage to the kitchen counter!

Smoothing begins followed by stretching which thins
it out rather than being really thick.

After it's cooled the breaking into pieces begins.   Nuts fly!   Little pieces appear!      Those are for me and Leon to sample.   When the small pieces perhaps hit the floor Spencer takes over and tastes it, too.  Just one tiny bite!   Is it perfect?   Or does the batch need to be tossed?

Our first shipping has begun.   We made over 100 lbs last year.   Wonder what the numbers will be this year.
