MY ART CLASS BEGINS

I experienced one great time at my first art class with Holly Smith at the Five Town Adult Education get together on Thursday evening.    

After a demonstration of painting flowers, we tried it out on our own.  
Here is a sample of our teacher's work. 

Then we went for painting birch trees using tape so the picture would stay white.   Holly showed two ways we could do it - one just before adding more paint and another applying more color.   We are to work on these at home when time would not be an issue.   

The instructor's palette allowed room for mixing a variety of colors.   One lesson learned was taking a wet paper towel and wiping your brush after using paints of contrasting colors.   I learned so much in our first class.   Such a great teacher and very helpful in answering our questions.
