FABULOUS LUNCH ADVENTURE

With Lisa and Cathy here now our Saturday took us to Cellar Door Winery for "A Taste of Fall" and WOW was it spectacular.

FIRST COURSE:   Beet Carpaccio with Kale and Goat Cheese Salad.    WINE:  2019 Theron.  Beets?   Kale?   Thought I would not like it at all but with a small taste of wine it came through with a plus.

SECOND COURSE:   Fall Vegetable Soup with Pan-Seared Scallops.   WINE:  2022 Chardonnay.    I could have eaten another bowl of this!    
Red wine, not bad.

THIRD COURSE:   Shepherds Pie - Braised Lamb with Rutabaga and Sweet Potato Crust.   WINE:  2018 Sur La Riviere.   The main course - OUTSTANDING.    The girls picked up three bottles of that light wine bringing them home for a taste at dinner time.

FOURTH COURSE:  Apple & Pear Tart with Creme Anglaise.    WINE:  2022 Homage.   One fabulous way to end a meal.   I could have eaten more.

Our chef certainly was a master at preparing this meal.    Leon and I are checking into the final evening dinner tasting adventure.   What a great way to sample some wonderful food and drink.
