HAPPENINGS

STILL WAITING

Coming home didn't happen!    It's difficult to land yourself in the hospital under flesh colored blankets, a checkered hospital gown and a computer lying there ready for some action.   It's been almost a week that Leon has been lying in this bed with wires strewn under his gown, attached to his skin.   How can one have a smile on his face under these circumstances?     I appreciate,
and am very grateful for his understanding of me
not sharing the entire day at the hospital.

Marjorie and Bill drove me down yesterday and after not seeing them for awhile it was great to spend some "talkable time" in the car while taking my mind off Leon - for a minute.    This picture shows Marjorie making friends with Leon's roommate, Conrad.   He has a wife, a brother that is 95 and 11 children so the room is very busy during the day.   He just asked Leon to help him connect with his brother.   Because he and Leon are the same age, they often have stories to share and I know the friendship that exists makes it easier for them both.   Think about it...how lonely life would be for you existing in a room and sharing it with an unlikeable person!

We are waiting to hear the words, "you can go home tomorrow"!   However, that is not happening at the moment.   Another day clips by while the time slows down and visualizations of your once happy life appear in front of you.   The time will come to return to that happiness.   We just have to be patient.

We are surrounded with so much LOVE, Pam, that is certainly treasured. I will never be able to thank all those who have helped me and Leon through everything.
