GOING AWAY

Leon and I attended Bob McMullen's Celebration of Life and there happened to be fond memories shared of his "good-bye" trip.   I looked around the sanctuary and saw friends and family.  Babies, youth and older folks saying farewell to a loved one.  Family members did an outstanding job of sharing their feelings for this loved man.   

Simple tears began flowing down my face when Ellen spoke, for her words about their relationship were so meaningful, loving, caring.   How they cherished each other and shared a life of adventure.   I don't know if I could handle it if Leon was sitting in that picture frame.  

It became a gathering of family, all taking the time to bid their farewells.

I totally cannot explain this photo, but Ellen and I were surprised about something.   I loved the gathering because I too wanted to give Bob a private and silent going away.
